Dar Ta' Zeppi: Relaxing, Family Owned, and One-of-a-Kind

27.07.2017

A Review of

Dar Ta' Zeppi

Dar Ta' Zeppi was the last place I stayed in Gozo and it was, without a doubt, my favorite of my Gozo accommodations. Tanja and Vince, the owners of this charming bed and breakfast, are two of the kindest, warmest-hearted people I've ever met. The minute I arrived, Tanja and I sat down for a mug of tea and I instantly felt at home. Every minute after that I fell more an more in love with the place, and if I ever get the chance to return to Gozo, Dar Ta' Zeppi will be my first stop.

Dar Ta' Zeppi is the perfect place to take a break

From the fluffy bed to the sparkling pool, every inch of this place screams relaxation. I found it hard to get myself to go around the island and do stuff; I just wanted to hang around and enjoy this amazing bed and breakfast! Dar Ta' Zeppi boasts a pool surrounded by lawn chairs, a ping-pong table- a cozy garden, a living room with a roaring fire, and all the comforts of home you could ever dream of.

I was in deep need of relaxation when I arrived in Gozo. My hectic lifestyle in Edinburgh had me overwhelmed and stressed pretty much 24/7. What I needed was a break, and that's exactly what Dar Ta' Zeppi offered. Whether you're a solo traveler in need of a quiet place to lay your head or a family looking for a temporary place to call home, this bed and breakfast is the ideal place to rest and restore.

From a family home to a bed and breakfast

The words "local" get thrown around a lot in the tourism industry, but if ever there was a local place to stay, it's Dar Ta' Zeppi. The house itself has been in the family for years and even the name of the B&B comes from Vince's uncle. But it's not just the history that makes this place a local gem; it's the love and care with which Tanja and Vince treat every single person who walks through the front doors.

They make a delicious breakfast full of Gozitan and Belgian delicacies (Tanja is from Belgium) every morning. Tanja's art fills the house and there's even a small art gallery in the front two rooms. Tanja and Vince were always good about respecting my privacy, but whenever I wanted they were more than happy to sit down and chat the hours away with me. I was only there for one night, but I truly felt like a member of the family by the time I left.

A one-of-a-kind gem you won't find anywhere else

What really blew my mind about Dar Ta' Zeppi was how unique it was. I've stayed in a lot of places. Hotels, hostels, vacation rentals, bed and breakfasts, and so much more. And yet, through all that, Dar Ta' Zeppi stood out to me as truly one of a kind. Maybe it was the incredible home, or the fantastic location, or the unbelievable service, but whatever it was, I know one thing for sure; I absolutely loved it.

Everything about this place is special. It's a one-of-a-kind place full of one-of-a-kind people and I am so glad I got a chance to stay here. If you're looking for an unforgettable bed and breakfast, than Dar Ta' Zeppi is the place for you.

What amenities does Dar Ta' Zeppi have?

The final verdict: one of the best places I've ever stayed

Final verdict is probably obvious by now; I love this place! My favorite kind of accommodations are the kind that don't just give me a place to sleep at night, but give me an experience. And boy was Dar Ta' Zeppi an experience! If I ever get the chance, I'll be heading back there for sure. And if you ever find yourself in Gozo, I recommend you head to Dar Ta' Zeppi too!
